“… giving Nature her opportunity”

consciously cooperating with our natural design
in motion.
Learn the useable principles of the Alexander Technique to help you do what you love with more efficiency and pleasure.
I have been learning to use and teach the Alexander Technique for the past ten years with incredible teachers. Greg Holdaway (Sydney), Cathy Madden (Seattle), Lucia Walker (UK) and Jeremy Chance (Japan) have been my primary teachers and influences.
I first came across this process when I was studying classical music and playing a lot more cello than I ever had before. I was getting pain in my left hand, so I went along to a weekend workshop with Greg. The pain instantly went away, never to return, and my whole world opened up! Since then I have been deeply diving into weaving the process into my life and learning how to teach it to others. I am delighted and fascinated at how it can apply to all kinds of skills and daily activities.
The work brings so much honesty, depth and joy to the process of learning and being. Really being where we are and knowing what we want is a skill we can finely develop with the use of F.M. Alexander's discovery.
Thanks to this elegant process, I experience myself as an integrated part of the whole, and can cooperate with my whole self in the service of my desires in the world.
What is the Alexander Technique?
The Alexander Technique was developed by Friedrich Matthias Alexander, a Tasmanian born in 1869.
F.M. Alexander was a Shakespeare recitalist who lost his voice and desperately wanted to regain it to perform. After a long series of scientific observations and experimentation, he stumbled upon a process of working with coordination that can be applied to all vertebrates. His discovery enables us to cooperate with our natural design in a way that is constructive, kind and supportive of our desires and dreams in the world.
When we move how we are designed to move, we can do what we love with skill, ease and enjoyment. A trained Alexander Technique teacher can help you learn how to apply this process to everyday activities and relationships, as well as highly specialised tasks like musical performance or sporting activities.
